Frequently asked questions

Where do you source your UK Pokémon card pricing data?

Prices are TCGplayer market prices, matched to the card's condition where the data allows and converted to GBP at the current exchange rate. For Pokémon, MTG and Yu-Gi-Oh! we fall back to CardMarket when TCGplayer has no price, and Japanese Pokémon cards are priced from CardMarket. The price is fetched live when you scan; saved cards are re-priced daily (Pokémon, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh!) or weekly (other games).

Can TCGScan identify rare Pokémon variants like Alt Art and Special Illustration Rare?

Yes — Alt Art, Special Illustration Rare, Rainbow Rare, Gold Secret Rare, and Full Art cards are all visually distinct and identified reliably by the AI. Each variant is priced individually.

Which Pokémon TCG sets does TCGScan support?

TCGScan's AI can identify cards from across the full Pokémon TCG card pool — from Base Set through the latest Scarlet & Violet era sets, including all ex, V, VMAX, VSTAR, and older EX and GX cards.

Is TCGScan free to use for Pokémon collectors?

Yes — the AI scanner, collection library, and share links are free. Free accounts include 25 AI scans per month and an unlimited card library. Pro (£2.99/month) raises that to 200 scans and adds export; Plus (£5.99/month) is unlimited and adds bulk scanning.
